Lunch at Matobar, nestled in the bustling heart of Antwerp, was a delightful experience. Its central location in the city center adds a layer of convenience and charm, making it an attractive spot for both locals and tourists alike. The standout feature of Matobar, however, was the exceptional hospitality extended by its three owners, who made sure our midday meal was both welcoming and memorable. The culinary highlight was undoubtedly the carpaccio with truffles. This dish was simply fantastic, with the thin slices of meat enhanced by the rich, earthy flavors of the truffles, creating a sophisticated and indulgent starter.
